    Bose SoundTrue Headphones II Review

The Bose SoundTrue around-ear headphones II are Bose’s third full-size headphones, coming after the QuietComfort25 and the SoundLink Around-Ear Wireless II. They have a pretty cheap retail price of $180, so you can get them without breaking the bank. So let’s find out more in this Bose SoundTrue Headphones II Review.
These headphones bear a close resemblance to Bose’s SoundTrue Around-Ear I and II and the QuietComfort25. However, the most significant change made in this new design is the headband. It’s nearly twice as thick as the headband of its predecessor. The shape of the earcups is also slightly different. Overall, the Around-Ear II feels sturdier than any of the comparable headphones listed above.

Bose is known for the level of comfort their over-ear headphones provide, and the Bose SoundTrue around-ear headphones II are no different. They’re incredibly comfortable and, dare I say, probably the most comfortable full-size headphones you can buy.
The Around-Ear II comes with a nice little carrying case, which it folds flat to fit into. It’s surprisingly compact for its size, making it easy to bring with you on flights or carry around in your everyday life. However, the case isn’t particularly sturdy, so it’s wise to be careful not to accidentally smash your headphones when packing them away in your suitcase or backpack.

With the cable, they weigh in at 6.4 ounces, making them a bit heavier than their predecessor, but still quite light for a full-size headphone.

The cord of the Bose SoundTrue around-ear headphones II is detachable, which adds to the convenience of both storing and transporting these headphones. It has an integrated three-button remote and microphone that is of decent quality, making it good to take voice calls on, but not anything worth recording with.

As for the compatibility of the remote and microphone when writing this Bose SoundTrue around-ear headphones II Review you can choose between a version of the cord that is compatible with iOS devices or one that’s designed for use on Android devices. The microphone works perfectly regardless of what device you’re using, but some of the remote features only work with their compatible operating systems.

NOT QUITE CUTTING THE MUSTARD FOR THIS PRICE RANGE

The Bose SoundTrue around-ear headphones II don’t offer active noise cancellation, but they do give you a tight seal around your ears, which filters out a lot of surrounding noise. However, just like any other around-ear headphone, they will make your ears hot in warm weather.
The Around-Ear II delivers accurate sound with well-defined bass. It doesn’t put much emphasis on treble and mid-tones, but it doesn’t make the bass too heavy, either. If you love bass, you would probably be disappointed with these headphones. The drivers of this headphone is the same as its predecessor, but due to the new design, the bass is a bit tighter than the older model. A common issue with earlier around-ear models of Bose’s was the harshness of the treble, but it’s very smooth in these headphones. The overall smoothness of all tones makes these versatile headphones that are designed to make even poorly-recorded tracks sound decent.

Summary These are very comfortable headphones that are great for a variety of music, but Bose has traded in clarity and richness of sound for smoothness.
